Level 2: The Practice Living Islam, Not Just Knowing It

This is where Islam becomes real. Level 2 is designed for students who have their foundation in place and are ready to apply Islamic knowledge to actual life decisions — at work, at home, in the supermarket, and in relationships.

Most Muslims in the West grew up hearing “haram” and “halal” without ever understanding why. This level changes that. We go deep into the Islamic legal framework (Fiqh) — not to overwhelm you with rulings, but to give you the tools to navigate modern life as a confident, informed Muslim.

Topics and Skills Learned:

• Fiqh of Fasting (Sawm): The complete rulings of Ramadan — what breaks your fast, what doesn’t, how to handle fasting while traveling, working shifts, or dealing with health conditions. We cover the differences of opinion between madhabs so you can make informed choices.
• Fiqh of Zakat: Understanding who owes Zakat, how to calculate it on savings, business inventory, gold, and investments — including modern financial instruments like stocks and retirement accounts. The kind of practical Zakat guidance most English-speaking Muslims have never been taught.
• Halal & Haram in Daily Life: Food, finance, entertainment, dress, and social interactions. We break down the principles behind what is permissible and prohibited — so you can confidently assess new situations yourself instead of searching Google every time.
• Family Fiqh: Marriage contracts (Nikah), rights and responsibilities of spouses, divorce rulings (Talaq, Khul’), parenting in Islam, and how to handle family conflicts within an Islamic framework — including mixed-faith households.
• Business & Financial Ethics in Islam: Islamic rulings on interest (Riba), mortgages, loans, contracts, employment, and halal investing. Essential for Muslim professionals navigating the Western financial system with their faith intact.
• Fiqh of the Muslim Minority (Fiqh al-Aqalliyyat): This is the module most online Islamic courses skip entirely. We address the real questions — voting, working in conventional banks, insurance, mortgages, integrating into non-Muslim societies — with balanced scholarly perspectives grounded in Maqasid al-Shariah (objectives of Islamic law).

Requirements: Level 1 completion or demonstrated foundational Islamic knowledge. Students can be assessed to skip directly to Level 2.

Level 3: The Depth Fall in Love with Your Prophet and Your History

Ask most Muslims about the Prophet ﷺ beyond basic biography and you’ll get silence. That’s not their fault; it’s a gap in Islamic education. Level 3 fixes that.

This level is about connection. When you truly know the story of the Prophet ﷺ — his personality, his struggles, his humor, his patience, how he dealt with enemies and loved his family, Islam stops being a set of rules and becomes a living, breathing legacy you’re proud to carry.

• Complete Seerah of the Prophet ﷺ (Phase by Phase):

  • The Makkan period: revelation, persecution, and unshakeable faith under pressure
  • The Hijra: one of history’s most remarkable journeys, and what it teaches about trust in Allah
  • The Madinan period: state-building, treaties, battles, and the emergence of an Islamic society
  • The Farewell Sermon and the final years, lessons that are just as urgent today as they were 1,400 years ago
• Lessons from the Seerah for Modern Muslims: We don’t just narrate events, we extract principles. How did the Prophet ﷺ handle Islamophobia? How did he lead under pressure? How did he build community among people who hated each other? Every story becomes a mirror for your life.
• Lives of the Sahabah (Companions): Deep-dives into the lives of Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Khadijah, Aisha, Bilal, and others, their struggles, sacrifices, and how they shaped Islamic civilization. These aren’t just historical figures; they’re role models built for real human beings with real flaws and real faith.
• Introduction to Hadith Sciences (Mustalah al-Hadith): Understanding what a Hadith is, how it was preserved, and how scholars determined authenticity. You’ll learn the difference between Sahih, Hasan, Da’if, and fabricated narrations, so you can stop sharing weak hadith on WhatsApp and start actually understanding the science behind Islamic knowledge transmission.
• The Major Hadith Collections: Introduction to Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, the Sunan collections, and how to navigate them. We focus on key hadith relevant to your daily life with full chains of understanding.
• Islamic Civilization & History: The Golden Age of Islam, the scholars, scientists, and leaders who built one of history’s greatest civilizations. From Baghdad to Andalusia, from Al-Ghazali to Ibn Rushd, understanding your intellectual heritage as a Muslim.
• The “Story First, Lesson Always” Method: Every historical event is taught as a narrative first, then unpacked for its timeless lessons. History becomes something you remember because it moved you, not just something you memorized for a test.

Outcome: You will have a deep, emotionally connected knowledge of the Prophet’s ﷺ life, a working understanding of Hadith authentication, and a proud sense of your place in an unbroken chain of Islamic civilization stretching back 1,400 years.

Requirements: Level 2 completion recommended. Students with existing Seerah knowledge may begin here after assessment.
